Dog Cards

My dog trainer has decided to sell handmade dog/cat gifts and asked me to make some cards for her. The following cards are for her store. They are in card jackets so I apologize for the shiny areas.

Stamps: SU, Stampscapes, computer generated saying.

I’m Back…with Santa!

Oh my goodness….I got all caught up in the holidays then my furry companion Jake,  passed away after a lifetime heart problem. I think I have everything under control now so I’m back to posting!

This was my Christmas card for 2011. I LOVE the Gumball/Gumbo Graphics Santa….there is no better Santa face in my humble opinion!

I wanted to keep the design simple because the face is the focal point after all!
I rosied up Santas cheeks with chalk and used Crystal Lacquer on his glasses. I also glittered up his eyebrows, mustache and beard but you can’t see that in the scan.  The background layer is embossed.

Supplies:  SU Cherry Cobbler Cardstock and Whisper White
Ink:  Memories Black
Stamps:
Gumball/Gumbo Graphics Santa and Be’ lieve is by Seaside Stampin’ Ink
Stickles by Ranger and CuttleBug Embossing folder. SU Punch

Copying Kittie Caracciolo

I ran across Kittie’s blog while looking on SplitCoastStampers and immediately felt inspired by her creativity and ideas! I just fell  in love with this card and had to give it a try.  So after I bought MS Pine Branch punch, the Marvy Multi image Christmas punch (I got it brand new on E-bay for $4.99!!! ) and PaperTrey’s Fence die cut I was ready to give it a try. This was the first card I came up with and it was my shoebox card for my monthly stamp group. I still have a ways to go before I’m as good as Kittie, but I’m happy with this card.

You can click on any photo on my blog for a larger picture. I’m still tying to figure out how to get all the pictures the same size.

Cardstock: SU Whisper White
Greeting: Hero Arts
Scallop oval and plain oval are SU punches
Bliss Blue ink sponged around greeting
Embossing Folder: Swirls
Printed papers from Hobby Lobby and JoAnns, that’s including the blue and white background paper.
Snowman sticker: Jolee’s By You

As always…..stay persnickety!

Circle Easel Card

I’ve been so busy with Christmas cards I haven’t posted in a while.  But, here’s one I’ve made for a group mingle….just using blue, silver and white. This is a circle easel card and they are really fun to make. I cut my card shape from Silver Glimmer Paper using my largest Spellbinders Circle Scallop die. The blue and white layers were also cut using Spellbinders dies. SU oval punches were used for the greeting which is pop dotted on so it holds the top of the card up.

Stamps: Bright Hopes SU and Bells & Boughs also SU

Totally CASE’d Card

I was browsing SplitcoastStampers and found this card by PTaylor.  I just loved the simple elegance of it and had to make it. I used a different verse than she did but otherwise, it’s pretty much the same card.

Stamps: Beautiful Season
Cardstock: Ivory unknown
Inks: Certainly Celery, Garden Green, Close to Cocoa, Cherry Cobbler and Memories Black
Embossing Folder: SU Tulip Frame

Elegant Christmas Card

I have had a wicked cold for the past week but I still managed to stamp a bit!
This is a card I made for a Yahoo group I belong to.  Instructions were to make a gold and white card so this is mine. It’s a very simple, yet elegant card, which is totally my style. The front panel is pop dotted on so please excuse the blurry section and the shadow on top.  The line showing on the card is actually on the scanner, not the card. Being persnickety, I would NEVER leave such a mark on one of my cards! I really need a good digital camera!

Stamps: Bright Hopes
Embossing folder:  SU Vintage Wallpaper
Cardstock: Whisper White, Gold unknown
Embossing Powder: Ranger

Shoebox Christmas Card

We’re doing shoebox cards at my next stamp club night and here’s a card I came up with for that.  I’m working on some easier ones because this one might take too long for everyone to do. We’ll be making 8 to 10 different cards that night.
Scanning just doesn’t do this card justice….the holly berries are red Stickles and the star is gold Stickles….very sparkly!

Stamp: Stampabilities “Tree with Holly Background”
Supplies:  SU Real Red and Whisper White cardstock , Red Glimmer Paper
Sizzix embossing folder, red and gold Stickles, blender pen, pop dots. Green background paper unknown.
Inks: SU Real Red, Glorious Green, Hunter Green (retired) Cherry Cobbler and Creamy Caramel and Chocolate Chip.

Until next time….stay persnickety!

Adventures in Stamping Convention

I never get tired of going to conventions! I just love being around all the rubber, paper,  inks and card samples. I love the ideas I get and the demo’s are fun to watch…it’s just FUN being around everything stamping!  I went on Oct. 22 to the one day convention in Strongsville and  I managed to find a few things I had to have…lol don’t we always!  The thing I’m most impressed with is the Memory Box “Flowering Christmas Tree” die I bought. It’s my first one from them and I can’t believe how perfectly it cuts. I’m working on some Christmas card ideas using it and will post them when they’re done.  I went with a friend I got into stamping about a year ago and her enthusiasm has refreshed mine…we had a good time and are saving for the big 3 day convention in April in Akron!

Until next time…..stay persnickety!

Halloween Tri Shutter Card

Once you get the hang of it, these cards are fun! Paper is from a paper stack by Debbie Mum.  I love to use stacks for things like this because all the paper matches.

Until next time!

I love Halloween!

This is a card I made for a friend of mine. I sponged yellow, orange and violet dye inks onto white card stock to make the background.  The black, wispy clouds were made using a straight edge of a soft sponge.  Swipe the edge of the sponge across the black ink pad and lightly swipe it again onto the background. The embossed tree is from the new Hero Arts  set called “So Scary.”  The fence is Martha’s and the flocked kitty is a sticker from Recollections.  Bats unknown.

And of course you need a matching envelope!

Until next time!
